About the event
Investigate how art shapes historical narratives through three interconnected exhibitions acknowledging the 250th anniversary of the United States. Start with Revolutions Reconsidered, which revisits Dartmouth’s Revolutionary-era legacy and the evolving symbolism of the American Revolution. Then visit Nurturing Nationhood, which explores how artists from the 18th to 20th centuries helped define American identity. The workshop concludes with Inhabiting Historical Time, a powerful exploration of slavery’s enduring legacies through objects of oppression, resistance, and resilience. Together, these exhibitions offer rich opportunities to engage students in critical conversations about history. Space for this free program is limited. Register online (registration link to come).
